
The course on the Labour Relations Act (LRA) will cover the introduction and significance of the LRA, including its alignment with constitutional and international standards, the rights and protections regarding freedom of association for employees and employers, the provisions and processes involved in collective bargaining, the legal frameworks and procedures for strikes and lockouts, the establishment and functioning of workplace forums, the registration and regulation of trade unions and employers’ organisations, the mechanisms for dispute resolution, the protections against unfair dismissal, the regulations surrounding temporary employment services and confidentiality, and the guidelines for bargaining councils and transitional arrangements.
